Our Area
The fastest-growing areas in the Shire, Jimboomba, Cedar Grove, Cedar Vale, Flagstone, South and North Maclean and its surrounding residential areas cater for many different ages and lifestyles.
Situated on the Mount Lindesay Highway, 21km north of Beaudesert, Jimboomba is the main commercial centre serving the rapidly developing rural residential estates in the northern part of the Beaudesert Shire.
Its population has swelled from about 800 in 1978, to 5,500 in 1996, and huge growth is expected over the next few decades.
Community facilities continue to grow with a childcare centre, kindergarten, pre-school, primary schools and international college. The nearby Flagstone Estate hosts a P12 school (primary to year 12).
The town boasts a rural fire brigade, ambulance station, police station, community hall, sporting fields, parks, public toilets, neighbourhood centre and the little brown church (hall). The Caddies Community Care Centre provides day respite care, support programs, family day care, TASS transport assistance and a community health clinic.
There is a full-time library and customer service centre in Jimboomba, allowing local residents to pay their rates, dog registrations and lodge building applications without having to travel to Logan City.
The retail/commercial centre is immediately west of the highway along Cusack Lane. This provides a good functional relationship between the retail services in Cusack Lane and the community services in Honora Street.
Commercial development has occurred at a rapid pace, with the first shopping centre constructed in 1985. Reticulated water services were installed three years later.
